Sarah Sumner is the first woman to earn a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. Her other degrees include a B.A. from Baylor, a Master’s in Theology from Wheaton, and an MBA from Azusa Pacific University. Currently she serves as Professor of Theology & Ministry at Azusa Pacific University, Special Assistant to the Dean: Strategic Development, and as a regular Teaching Pastor at New Song Church.
She also works as an aerobics instructor at Bally Total Fitness. One of Sarah’s main callings is to write books. Her first book, Men and Women in the Church: Building Consensus on Christian Leadership, was released in March 2003 and is now in its 3rd printing. Her second book, Leadership Above the Line, was released in June 2006 and she is currently working on two upcoming books.
